Energy Agencies' Budgets Up This Year In a budget that was astonishingly easy to pass in California before the usual summer overtime intractability, energy agencies came out with more funds than last year. The totals for the 2006-07 budget include: ? California Public Utilities Commission - $1.283 billion, up from $1.22 billion last year. ? California Energy Commission - $328 million, up from $316 million last year. ? Electricity Oversight Board - $3.9 million, up from $3.65 million last year. Other agencies with energy-related work budgets include the California Air Resources Board, which issues pollution permits for power plants, at $313 million; the Coastal Commission, an agency that oversees power plant cooling from the ocean, at $16 million; and the Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Authority, at $194,000.
