In anticipation of achieving the goal of the bipartisan Million Solar Roofs legislation, the California Public Utilities Commission?s staff released a report calling for the consolidation of the existing and anticipated residential and commercial solar incentives by June 2006. In addition to recommending one incentive program, the June 14 report calls for the utilities and the San Diego Regional Energy Office to continue administration of day-today program subsidies. The staff also suggests continuing to fund the program from gas and electric distribution rates through 2016. The staff encourages municipal utilities to follow suit. Opening comments are due July 1.
