From $1.5B to Zero for SDG&E

By Published On: September 9, 2011

Alleging that San Diego Gas & Electric ratepayers are “overpaying,” the Division of Ratepayer Advocates issued a report Sept. 2 suggesting a decrease in utility revenues. SDG&E is requesting a $1.5 billion increase over four years. The ratepayer division noted it expects fewer expenses than the utility projects. The utility estimated in 2010 in its initial filing that gas rates would increase 7 percent systemwide and electricity rates would rise 6 percent on a system basis. SDG&E did not respond to a request for comments.
