New Yolo County Supervisor Was PG&E Consultant

By Published On: November 10, 2006

One of the owners of Meridian Pacific, Matt Rexroad, former mayor of Woodland, won his bid for the post of Yolo County supervisor November 7. Meridian was hired by the utility last year to keep tabs on the South San Joaquin Irrigation District’s efforts to sell electricity in PG&E territory. It was fired after an employee of the firm improperly accessed and downloaded irrigation district files. Rexroad complained at that time that the utility was “making a big deal out of nothing.” The county of Yolo along with its cities pursued an annexation by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. However, the plan did not get the requisite approval this week, keeping the region exclusively in PG&E’s hands. – E. McC.
