Seldom-Seen EOB Could Be Axed

While much attention has been focused on whether the California Power Authority will cease to exist, a measure from 2003 to kill the Electricity Oversight Board is gaining momentum. SB 920 by Debra Bowen (D-Redondo Beach) sits on the Assembly floor, and Capitol insiders say it has a good chance of passing. Much of the support is said to be related to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger?s expected proposal to eliminate the EOB in the upcoming California Performance Review. The review, likely to be issued in June, will pitch measures to ?streamline? state bureaucracy.
