Renewable Integration: Market & Product Review Phase 1 Schedule Change

In response to stakeholder comments on the Renewable Integration Market and Product Review Phase 1 second revised straw proposal, the California ISO plans to post a third revised straw proposal on June 13, 2011. The ISO has revised the initiative schedule to provide time for stakeholder input on the proposal and subsequent draft final proposal. The new 2011 schedule is as follows: June 13 - Third revised straw proposal posted June 20 - Conference call to discuss the proposal June 27 - Stakeholder comments on straw proposal due July - Draft final proposal posted August - Presentation to the ISO Board of Governors More information on Renewable Integration Market and Product Review Phase 1 is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/27be/27beb7931d800.html . For More Information Contact Cynthia Hinman at chinman@caiso.com At the request of stakeholders, the California ISO is developing an alternate Participating Intermittent Resources Program (PIRP) proposal within the Renewable Integration Market and Product Review Phase 1 initiative and scheduled a stakeholder call on March 21, 2011 to discuss the proposal. The call served as a preliminary discussion on the PIRP proposal before it was incorporated into the next Renewable Integration Phase 1 paper, which the ISO posted on April 4, 2011. The ISO posted a presentation for the call to its website at http://www.caiso.com/27be/27beb7931d800.html The ISO scheduled a stakeholder meeting on April 12, 2011 to launch Renewable Integration Market and Product Review Phase 2. Through this initiative the ISO will work with stakeholders to identify and define new market products and improvements needed to support renewable integration. As announced in a market notice in January 26, 2011 the California ISO posted the Renewable Integration: Market & Product Review Phase 1 revised straw proposal on its website at http://www.caiso.com/27be/27beb7931d800.html on February 16. Comments on the Renewable Integration: Market & Product Review Phase 1 revised straw proposal were due to RI-MPR@caiso.com by close of business March 10. The proposal is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/2b27/2b27e9ea6d680.pdf . The ISO held a stakeholder meeting on February 24 to discuss the revised straw proposal.
